Web Archiving Service Noted

July 8, 2009 -- The Chronicle of Higher Education has published an article (external link) that discusses the California Digital Library Web Archiving Service (external link).

Usefulness of the service to a New York University project to preserve web content about the Guantánamo Bay Detention Camp is cited.  Stanford University staff also discuss using the service to develop an archive of Middle East political sites.

The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program is mentioned in connection with its support for web content preservation tools.
