Fran Berman Joining Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
May 14, 2009 -- The San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego has announced that Director Fran Berman will be leaving to accept the position of Vice President of Research with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, effective August 1, 2009.
Berman has a long association with the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program through her active involvement with Chronopolis
and other projects. She also now serves as co-chair of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access.
The Library of Congress named Berman a Digital Preservation Pioneer in 2008.
