Do you know the most important standards a digital archivist needs to know?  What are the options, which ones apply to your work, what are the benefits, and what is practical for your particular situation?

Get started with this foundation on standards as a stepping stone to courses that focus and discuss in more detail specific standards for particular archival functions and the applications of those standards, including accession, arrangement and description, access, and outreach.

This course covers a range of specifications from those published by national and international standards setting bodies to de facto practices. Published standards you’ll hear about include OAIS, TRAC, DoD 5015.2, ISO 15489, ISO 19005-1, ANSI/NISO Z39.87, FISMA, ISO 15386 (Dublin Core).
