Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Julia has a Master’s of Library and Information Science from the University of Denver as well as a Master’s in Management from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She became interested in the field of digital stewardship in her first months of study at Denver’s MLIS program. She applied to the NDSR program because she is passionate about digital stewardship and wanted to gain professional experience in the field. The NDSR program seemed to her to offer not only a change to gain professional experience, but also a chance to engage with the digital stewardship community and learn from leaders in the field.

As a resident at the National Security Archive, Julia is working to inventory and analyze the organization’s digital content and to develop a plan to implement suggested improvements to their digital capture and preservation processes.

She hopes to continue her career in digital preservation in Washington, DC after the NDSR program concludes. She would like to continue growing her own experience in the field and also to help other young professionals connect with opportunities like those that have been extended to her through the NDSR program.
