The Library of Congress > Digital Preservation > News Archive > Upcoming Event: Chronopolis WebEx Session

March 8, 2010 -- Chronopolis, a grid-based archival digital preservation solution, will host a WebEx session on Friday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. EST (10:30 a.m. PST).

Participation is limited to the first 125 registrants. For those unable to participate the session will be recorded and made available for future access.

The session will showcase Chronopolis’s comprehensive tools and services for ingest, storage, geographic replication and data monitoring. There will be live demonstrations of the tools and services including:

  • Auditing Control Environment (ACE): incorporates a new methodology to address the integrity of long-term archives. Chronopolis uses ACE to continuously audit the collections in the network using rigorous cryptographic techniques.
  • SRB/iRODS/Replication Manager: the underlying suite of tools providing the core storage and preservation infrastructure in the project.
  • Chronopolis data portal: allows data providers to see real-time information and statistics on their collections, including status of the different Chronopolis storage geo-locations.

There will also be a discussion of future plans, including new collaborations with other preservation environments.
