Getting Around
Three airports serve the Washington metropolitan area: Ronald Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport, both located in Virginia, and the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) located in Maryland. The airport closest to the meeting location is Reagan National. All three offer various modes of transportation including shuttle bus, taxi, Amtrak/MARC train service and metro access.
From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA):
Via Taxi – The hotel is about 6 miles from the airport and takes approximately 15 minutes to get there depending on traffic. The fare is approximately $20 and is payable by cash only, unless you request a cab that accepts credit cards.
Via Metro - The metro station is located directly at Ronald Regan National Airport. From Terminal B and C, use either of two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level which connect to the station. From Terminal A, exit and board any airport shuttle bus. Get off at the stops for Parking Garages B or C (bus shelter #3 or #5) to access the bridge to the Metro station. Purchase a fare card from a kiosk using cash or credit card. Metro rates vary based on time of the day. You will need to enter your fare card upon entrance and exit.
The nearest stop is King Street. Take Yellow line towards Huntington/Franconia Springfield or the Blue line towards Franconia Springfield 2 stops to King Street. The travel time is approximately 7 minutes.
On your return to the airport, take the Yellow line from King Street towards Greenbelt/Mount Vernon or the Blue line towards Largo Town Center 2 stops to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. From Dulles International Airport (IAD):
Via Taxi – The hotel is about 31 miles from the airport and takes approximately 40 minutes to get there depending on traffic. The fare is approximately $75 and is payable by cash only, unless you request a cab that accepts credit cards.
Via Shuttle – SuperShuttle is a door-to-door van service that takes passengers between the airport and their destination in shared ride vans. Depending on the number of passengers, the van may make multiple stops. Upon arrival at the airport, claim your luggage and follow signs toward Ground Transportation/Shared Ride Vans. SuperShuttle ticket counters are located on the lower level, just before the exit. When your ticket number is called, proceed outside where a uniformed Guest Service Representative will assist you. The fare is approximately $35 and is payable by cash, traveler’s check, or credit card.

Via Metro/Bus – There is no Metro station at this airport. You will need to take the Washington Flyer Bus Service to the West Falls Church Metro Station. The fare is $10 one way and $18 round-trip. The tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter located inside the vestibule of Door 4 on the Arrivals level of the Main Terminal. Buses depart from this location every 30 minutes at 15 and 45 minutes after the hour. At West Falls Church Station purchase a fare card from a kiosk using cash or credit card. Metro rates vary based on time of the day. You will need to enter your fare card upon entrance and exit. Take Orange line towards New Carrollton 6 stops and switch trains at Rosslyn. Take Blue line towards Franconia-Springfield 7 stops to King Street. Travel time on Metro is approximately 40 minutes.
On your return to the airport, take Blue line from King Street towards Largo Town Center 7 stops and switch trains at Rosslyn. Take Orange line towards Vienna 6 stops to West Falls Church. Follow signs to the Washington Flyer/Dulles Airport Shuttle bus stop. Tickets may be purchased using a credit card only or with cash upon arrival at the airport. Buses depart every 30 minutes at 15 and 45 minutes after the hour. The bus goes directly to the front door of the main terminal. From Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI):
Via Taxi – The hotel is about 41 miles from the airport and takes approximately 60 minutes to get there depending on traffic. The fare is approximately $125 and is payable by cash only, unless you request a cab that accepts credit cards.
Via Shuttle – SuperShuttle is a door-to-door van service that takes passengers between the airport and their destination in shared ride vans. Depending on the number of passengers, the van may make multiple stops. Upon arrival at the airport, claim your luggage. Proceed to the SuperShuttle ground transportation counters, located on the lower level between Southwest Airlines luggage carousels numbers 1-5 at the Pier A/B baggage claim, and next to baggage claim 10 at Pier C. When your ticket number is called, proceed outside where a uniformed Guest Service Representative will assist you. The fare is approximately $47 and is payable by cash, traveler’s check, or credit card.

Via Train – Exit the airport and board a shuttle bus to the BWI Rail Station, which is approximately 5 minutes away. Purchase train tickets in the office. Amtrak trains provide service from the BWI Rail Station to Union Station in Washington, DC. Travel time is approximately 30-40 minutes and a one-way fare is between $10-39 depending on the service chosen. Amtrak schedule and fare information is available at 800.872.7245 or www.amtrak.com. Visitors may also take the less expensive Maryland commuter rail line (MARC) from BWI to Union Station on weekdays. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes and a one-way fare is $6. Travel time from Union Station is approximately 20 minutes and a one-way fare is between $16-30.
Via Metro/Bus – There is no Metro station at this airport. You can take the BWI Express Metro bus to the Washington Metro System. There are two WMATA bus stops. One is located on the lower level of the International Concourse and the other stop is located on the lower level of Concourse A/B. Take bus B30 to the Greenbelt Metro Station, which is located on the Green line. The bus fare is $6 one way, exact change. At Greenbelt Station purchase a fare card from a kiosk using cash or credit card. Metro rates vary based on time of the day. You will need to enter your fare card upon entrance and exit. Take Yellow line towards Franconia-Springfield 18 stops to King Street. Travel time on Metro is approximately 45 minutes.

From Union Station:
Amtrak arrives at Union Station, as do the local Maryland (MARC) and Virginia (VRE) commuter trains.

Take Red line towards Shady Grove 2 stops and switch trains at Gallery Place. Take Yellow line towards Huntington 8 stops to King Street. Travel time on Metro is approximately 30 minutes.
On your return to Union Station, take Yellow line towards Greenbelt 8 stops and switch trains at Gallery Place. Take Red line towards Silver Spring/Glenmont 2 stops to Union Station.
From Alexandria Amtrak Station:
