Full name Matroska File Format with UYVY Video Encoding
Description

Matroska file containing a UYVY video picture encoding.

Supported encodings are declared via the unique Codec ID in the Matroska Codec Mappings. For UYVY files, the information is listed below. Note that FOURCC.org does not list a defined UYVY code but states that UYVY is considered equivalent to IUYV, HDYC, UYNV and Y422 files. See FOURCC UYVY yuv pixel format for more information. Microsoft Video FOURCC however does list UYVY as a specific code with the note that UYVY is "YUV video stored in packed 4:2:2 format. Similar to YUY2 but with different ordering of data." This is discussed in more detail in UYVY. Comments welcome

  • Codec Name: Microsoft (TM) Video Codec Manager (VCM)
  • Description: The private data contains the VCM structure BITMAPINFOHEADER including the extra private bytes, as defined by Microsoft. The data are stored in little-endian format (like on IA32 machines).
  • Initialization: Private Data contains the VCM structure BITMAPINFOHEADER including the extra private bytes, as defined by Microsoft in https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd183376(v=vs.85).aspx.
