| Disclosure | Both Mastroska and MPEG-2 are openly documented. Matroska is an open-source specification that is an offshoot of the Multimedia Container Format project. MPEG-2 is a standard developed by the ISO technical program called the Motion Pictures Expert Group (MPEG) in a joint partnership with ITU-T, who published the "common text" as H. 262. |
