Adoption TIFF_UNC is widely deployed in digital library projects as a master format. For example it is the preferred format in guidelines from the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative and the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy. Not supported by all browsers in native format but, since the early 2000s, new PC configurations usually include a viewer. TIFF_UNC is the preferred format for color or grayscale raster images created by digitization in the Technical Guidelines for Digitizing Cultural Heritage Materials: Creation of Raster Image Master Files from the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative (www.digitizationguidelines.gov).
